Details

Martin will speak about the state of the art in robots and AI and what this tells us about the near term future that our children and grandchildren will live in. Will the imminent arrival of AI powered self-driving vehicles mean redundancies for truck and taxi drivers? What will these people do next? Martin will also show how robots and AI are already commonplace, working in shops, restaurants and distribution centres.

About the Presenter

Martin works for education technology charity JISC, operators of the Janet network. His work at JISC is all about generating and channelling new ideas and building partnerships to bring them to fruition. He is particularly interested in the societal implication of ubiquitous robotics and artificial intelligence, and humanity's emergence as a true interplanetary species.
