A review of the current state of the art around green, or sustainable IT. Beginning with reasons for adopting a 'green' agenda, the presentation will then address some of the options and the most likely places where genuine savings can be made - both by changing the IT itself, and by using IT to affect other parts of the operation. Central to understanding the potential is the need to interpret the data, and to understand that while some savings are real, others are relocation of cost. Finally, the presentation will consider the issues around disposal of equipment.
