The presentation will cover the challenges business and users face today, ranging from On-Line Crime and Organised Crime attacks, through to Phishing, Cyber Terror, and the basic issues of simply keeping systems secure. The presentation will also encompass the areas of risk faced by business when dealing with pornography, and the real time issue if, or when, they encounter paedophilia based materials within their infrastructure or on their company owned assets. Lastly, the topic of First Responder Digital Forensics will be looked at from an Operational Capabilities stance, providing insight into the gaps which exist today.

About the Presenter

John Walker is the owner and MD of Secure-Bastion Ltd, a specialist Contracting/Consultancy in the arena of IT Security and Forensics and is actively involved in supporting the countering of eCrime, eFraud, and on-line Child Abuse. He is also the creator of The Virtual Security Portal, a free on-line security resource for business and individual users alike. John is a practising Expert Witness in the area of IT and is a Visiting Professor of Science and Technology at the School of Computing and Informatics at Nottingham Trent University. In the academic arena John is also the originator and author of a CPD/MSc Module covering Digital Forensics and Investigations. John is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), a Chartered Information Technology Practioner (CITP (BCS)), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM (ISACA)), a Full Member of the Forensics Society (MFSoc), and holds the appointment of Director & Chair of the ISSA UK Expert Technology Panel advising both Public and Private Sectors.
