In conjunction with the BCS Learning and Development Specialist Group, the BCS Nottingham and Derby branch are proud to present this event.

2012 was another year of change in businesses across the world and it appears that 2013 is not likely to any different. Change is a very unsettling word, particularly where organisational change includes systems, processes and behaviours that have become embedded ways of working.

Systems and processes can change but it is the way we interact with them that has the biggest impact. That's why many organisations now see the benefit of managing IT-enabled business change, not in technical terms, but in people terms. And yet still 70% of all major change efforts in organisations fail.

Most organisational change involves an element of learning, in a variety of forms, but the most successful combine technology, process improvement and highly-skilled, motivated people, placing learning at the centre of successful business change.

In this presentation, Jooli Atkins, FBCS CITP, Chair of BCS Learning and Development Specialist Group, SFIA Accredited Consultant and Director of Matrix FortyTwo with over 30 years' experience in the Profession, will discuss the reasons why learning is an essential ingredient in the recipe for successful IT-enabled business change and explore ideas for IT and L&D colleagues to work together to implement change effectively.
